Three Regional tournaments (North, Midlands and South) will determine who makes it through to the National Finals, where The Big Goal National Champions will be crowned.

About the regionals

These will each be 1-day 5-a-side football tournaments played out at the fantastic venues as listed.

All teams taking part have the additional chance of making it through to the National Finals – upon winning through the Group stages during the Regionals.

Arrival: 9am

Venue: The Beacon of Light, Stadium Way, Sunderland, SR5 1SN

Overlooking the River Wear on the outskirts of Sunderland you can’t miss the Beacon of Light on Stadium Park, directly opposite Sunderland AFC and the Stadium of Light. All teams will be greeted on arrival via a Registration Desk.

Agenda: Arrival for 9am for Team Registrations. 9:30am Team Briefing / Warm Ups. 10am Tournament Starts. 2pm Tournament Ends and Presentations. Following the tournament there will be lunch and refreshments provided for all participating teams inside the complex with the added prospects of a Stadium Tour of the Stadium of Light (TBC).

The Playing Venue: The ‘Indoor Barn’ is a rooftop 4G football pitch and arguably the best pitch in Sunderland, with changing rooms on site. Footwear: Players must use boots that have studs. For 4G pitches, the FA guidelines dictate that the following footwear is permitted: Screw-in Stud football boots (plastic studs; avoid metal studs); or Moulded Stud football boots. Bladed boots are prohibited.

Venue: The Forest Sports Zone in Gregory Boulevard, Forest Fields, Nottingham, NG7 6LD
 

The number one sports hub in Nottingham, The Forest Sports Zone is the state of the art community complex of Nottingham Forest FC, located in the heart of the city. All teams will be greeted on arrival via a Registration Desk.

Agenda: Arrival for 8:30am for Team Registrations. 9am Team Briefing / Warm Ups. 9:15am Tournament Starts. 12:45 Tournament Ends and Presentations. Following the tournament there will be lunch and refreshments provided for all participating teams and an opportunity for informal networking inside The Pavilion House Building.

The Playing Venue: The football pitch at The Forest Sports Zone offers a 3G playing surface, with changing rooms on site. Footwear: Players must use boots that have studs. For 3G pitches, the FA guidelines dictate that the following footwear is permitted: Screw-in Stud football boots (plastic studs; avoid metal studs); or Moulded Stud football boots. Bladed boots are prohibited.

Arrival: 12:30

Venue: Brentford FC Community Stadium Hub, 1a Thomas Layton Way, London TW8 0SB

Overlooking the Gtech Community Stadium, home of Brentford FC, the venue is a 2-minute walk from Kew Bridge with direct links into and out of Central London. All teams will be greeted on arrival via a Registration Desk.

Agenda: Arrival for 12:30 to the Community Stadium Hub for a Welcome Address, Presentation, Light Lunch and Refreshments, and informal Networking. 2:30pm – Depart the Stadium Hub to attend to Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub, Popes Lane, London, W3 8LQ. This is just 1.5 miles away, so a 15-min walk or 5-minute car journey, where parking is available on site as needed. Arrival to Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub for 3pm for Team Registrations. 3:15pm Team Briefing / Warm Ups. 3:30pm Tournament Starts. 7:30pm Tournament Ends. 7:45pm Presentations. 8pm Event end.

Bladed boots are prohibited.

Note: For all teams making it through to the Semi-Finals at the Regional tournaments, these teams will secure an automatic place in the National Finals to take place at St George’s Park later in the year.

Food and refreshments at the tournaments will be provided strictly for players only, so any supporters wishing to travel in support are politely asked to bring their own food, or be prepared to buy it on site.

Built in 2012 for £105m, St. George’s Park is the proud home to all 23 of England’s national football teams. 

Set within 330 acres of Staffordshire countryside, the site boasts no less than 14 elite outdoor pitches, including an exact replica of the Wembley surface, a full-sized Indoor 3G and a futsal arena.

And not only that, but St. George’s Park has welcomed teams from all over the world including the likes of Barcelona, Ajax, Man City, Benfica, England Rugby, England Cricket and many more!

12 teams will compete against each other in the National Finals tournament to determine the inaugural National Champions of The Big Goal!

Games

As in the Regional Finals, all games will be 7-min halves, and will consist of 3 Groups of four teams. The Group Winners and Best Runners Up will progress through to the Semi-Finals.
