Recently, the prestigious halls of the House of Lords played host to a truly inspiring event—the Founding Members Leaders Reception. Held in the historic Home Room, this gathering brought together some of the most influential corporate leaders across the ICT sector who have committed to supporting The Big Goal’s mission to use football as a force for good.
The event was co-hosted by Lord Bailey, Chair of Trustees for the Street Soccer Foundation, and Keith Mabbutt, CEO and Founder of The Big Goal. The reception was a celebration of the success so far and a rallying cry for continued commitment to expanding the Street Soccer Academy programme and other initiatives within the campaign.
Lord Bailey opened the event with a powerful message on the importance of corporate responsibility in addressing societal challenges through sport. Keith Mabbutt followed with a presentation outlining the positive impact the campaign had made so far and the vision for The Big Goal in 2025, including ambitious plans to grow the number of Academies and to create new and additional opportunities for young people across the UK.
The event concluded with a call to action for renewed sponsorship commitment, with several members already pledging to sponsor new Street Soccer Academy groups in 2025. With the support of these key partners, The Big Goal aims to reach a commitment to support and deliver 100 Academies by the end of next year.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended and contributed to making the event a success. Your ongoing support is vital to the continued success of The Big Goal.
