Special Visit
Zachiri Anang and Evan Likound, 2025 graduates from the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, were part of a group of Street Soccer Foundation leaders, supporters, other Street Soccer Academy graduates and new members of The Big Goal, who were given a unique chance to absorb and experience this inspirational culture in a very special visit organised by Amy Hutchinson, Marketing Services Manager at Sky Business last month.
Following a lavish sit-down lunch in the Sky restaurant, Sky Sports News Presenter David Garrido interviewed Zachiri and Evan on camera to get their thoughts on how the Street Soccer Foundation has changed their lives for the better. They spoke honestly and eloquently and were a credit to the AFC Wimbledon Foundation. David then questioned senior management from Railway Electrification Limited (REL), newcomers to The Big Goal tournament, and Founding Member of The Big Goal, Sky Business Wholesale, to get their thoughts on the initiative, before quizzing Street Soccer Foundation CEO Keith Mabbutt, Head of Personal Development, Andrew Greenwood and The Big Goal Co-Founder Nigel Sergent, on the development of the programme.
Inner Sanctum
After the interviews, David Garrido led the group on a special tour of the Sky Sports ‘inner sanctum’ giving the guests a unique view of the production studios before watching him present the evening sports bulletin live.
“Our recent visit to Sky HQ was an incredible experience and a brilliant reflection of the support Sky Business Wholesale continues to show towards The Big Goal and the wider work of the Street Soccer Foundation,” said Andrew Greenwood.
“A huge thank you to Amy, Mina, David Garrido and everyone at Sky for making us feel so welcome and for the generosity, hospitality and care shown throughout the day. It was also a particularly special experience for Zachiri and Evan, graduates from the AFC Wimbledon Street Soccer Academy, who represented themselves and the Foundation brilliantly throughout.
